The Wedding Journey – Creating Smiles, evoking memories
We have our first meeting
Our first meeting is obligation free so we can get to know one another a little. We will meet in a place of your choosing, and we will discuss all the wonderful ways you can celebrate your big day. I will give you a wedding pack with sample ceremonies, a questionnaire and wedding ideas for you to read through to get an impression of the type of ceremony style you like. I will also include an invoice in the pack with all booking details.
You sign a Notice of Intended Marriage
We meet again with all your required paperwork and complete and sign the Notice of Intended Marriage Form. By law, you need to complete this document at least one month before your wedding day. We also talk further about the ceremony inclusions, legal requirements and anything else you require.
I write your ceremony
I will write you a first draft of your ceremony and mail or email it to you. After you have had time to read through and talk about the ceremony together we will then discuss any changes required and ways to make it exactly what you both want. Making sure you are completely satisfied and the ceremony is just right and perfect for you.
We meet for a rehearsal at the location you intend to marry (if possible) or if not at an alternate location. A rehearsal can be as minimal or as detailed as you require, including just the two of you or all of your key people (brides maids, groomsmen, parents, children etc.). We make sure everyone is happy and well briefed (especially you) on where to stand, what to do and how the ceremony will progress. I also like to check the music if using my PA system.
The Big Day!
I arrive at least 45 minutes before the ceremony time. I make sure everything is in place as per your instruction. I set up my PA system and signing table. Put on some background music as the guests arrive. Make sure the music person is clear on their important job. Have1 a little chat with the Groom and groomsmen giving them a final reminder on how the ceremony will run. We now await the big arrival of the Bride and her bridesmaids.
Let’s make it official
Rings and vows have been exchanged, bride and groom have kissed. Just one more thing to do: You and your two witnesses (who are over 18 years of age) sign the Marriage Register and Certificates making everything official. I then present your decorative Marriage Certificate for you to keep.
I bid you farewell
I leave my background music playing as long as required then quietly pack up and leave, letting you enjoy the rest of your day/night with your loved ones. You’re married, congratulations!
Your Marriage Certificate
I register you marriage online when I arrive home and at the same time order your Marriage Certificate from the Registry of Births, Deaths & Marriages. The certificate usually takes approximately one week to arrive. I then forward it on to you through registered post.
I am also more than happy and qualified to perform any further ceremonies your family or friends may require in the future. Whether it be your child’s naming ceremony, your parents renewal of vows or even your best friends commitment ceremony. Just ask.
